Welcome to my blog. These are my ramblings, unedited and uncensored. It's a way for me to think out loud, as well as a way to practice and experiment with writing and expression.
I'm not pretentious enough to think that I'm some wise sage or potent luminary. if something you see here intrigues you or bothers you, I hope you post your comments.
Here's a list of terms you'll see me use that may not be immediately understandable to the average, sane, audience.
-The Faith in Humanity Meter: The bar at the top of this blog indicating my particular opinion of humanity at the moment. Stupid, evil, or otherwise objectionable behavior brings it down. Humorous, heartwarming, or otherwise commendable behavior brings it up.
-The Money Shot: The most potent, cohesive, and effectively communicated sentence, phrase, or paragraph in a selected work, usually one to which a link is provided. Refers to a movie-making term for the scene that costs the most and is thus supposedly the most visually impressive.
-TSNTD: This Story Needs to Die. Refers to stories news media are exaggerating, artificially inflating, or keeping alive far past the date of newsworthiness.
-This Week in LOL: Funny things in the news. Expect a link to something worth laughing at -- or at least something I think is worth laughing at.
-This Week in Owned: A story or scenario in which one person has been "owned" (defeated, dominated, or otherwise hustled) by somebody else. Or, on rare occasions, by themself.
-Fox News Headlines: Fox News sometimes thinks things are more important (or less important) than the rest of the media. Also, they are the best incendiary headline writers in the busines. This is a form of (bad) media criticism.
